A collection of 1,000 general knowledge questions with answers in ten sections of 100: history, geography, polity, economy, science, world geography, books and awards, culture and sports, and important days and organisations.
These are 1,000 general knowledge questions that cover the topics SSC exams ask about again and again: history, geography, polity, economy, physics and chemistry, biology, world geography, books and awards, culture and sports, and important days and organisations. Many of these facts appear in different forms in paper after paper, so a student who knows all 1,000 will find that a large part of the General Awareness section feels familiar.
The collection is split into 10 sections of 100 questions each. Every question is given with its answer in a simple table, so you can cover the answer column with your hand and test yourself, or read it straight through like a fact book.
How to Study These 1,000 Questions
- One section every two days. Read 50 questions a day. In 20 days you will have covered the whole list once.
- Cover and test. Cover the answer column, say the answer aloud, and then check. Put a small tick against those you got right.
- Revise only the ones you missed. On the next round, go only through the questions without a tick.
- Link facts together. If you learn "Kaziranga – Assam", also remember "one-horned rhinoceros". One connection makes the next question easier.
- Take a mock test after each section to check how much you have retained.
A note on freshness: The facts in the sports and organisation sections are correct up to 2025. Rankings, office-bearers and recent events change often, so please also read the latest current affairs before your exam.

Final Tips Before the Exam
A big list like this is not meant to be memorised in one go. The best approach is to go through it several times, each time faster than before. By the third round you should be able to answer most of the questions in a few seconds. Whatever you still forget after three rounds, write on a small "last-week" sheet, and read that sheet every day until the exam.
Alongside these questions, practise a few full-length GK practice sets so that you get used to the multiple-choice style, in which the options often look very similar.
